Cheboygan Wedding / Leah & Adam

Northern Michigan, Cheboygan, Lake Huron…. Log cabin, two dogs, children, frog pond, humming birds. The sound of the lake’s waves washing over the stony beach is as hypnotizing and calming as the turquoise water. The forecast said rain, but the sunshine has won for now, and its a bright and beautiful day. The house is buzzing with a wedding day excitement. The party is small and intimate, close friends and family.

When I first talked to Leah about this day and she told me it’ll be an outdoor wedding in her parents cabin in Cheboygan it sounded wonderful. In reality it was absolutely perfect. I fell in love with Cheboygan last year, and camped there two times. Photographing a Cheboygan Wedding ?!? Yes. The fact that the cabin was built by Leah’s dad over a decade ago made everything more special. His dream house was to host the celebration of Leah and Adam’s love for each other, and their families.

I am a sucker for love stories. Often times it takes a little while for everything to fall into place, but when it does, its just right. There’s so many ways a story can be told. The way Adam holds Leah, like he’ll never let go, the way Leah eyes sparkle and laughter fallows. There’s things you can say with words, important things, promises ( there wasn’t a dry eye, during Adam’s vows ),  but also there are things you say with the way you move around your partner. And these two talk to each other with affection, respect and so much love. 

The rain did eventually come, perfectly timed. And that was ok. Because after, Leah and Adam got a wedding day rainbow. 

How poetic, symbolic and romantic is that )?
